How to unpair Apple Watch with or without your iPhone

Has there ever been a time when you’ve needed to reset your Apple Watch? What if, for instance, you were considering selling it, giving it to someone else, or losing it due to unfortunate circumstances? In that case, you might want to think about unpairing or removing your Apple Watch from your Apple ID account.

Your data, apps, and settings are all erased when you unpair your Apple Watch because it resets to its factory default settings.   • The best practice is to always unpair your Apple Watch when it is not already in your possession. By doing this, you can:

  • Open the Watch app on your iPhone by clicking on it.
  • Tap All Watches in the upper left of the My Watch page.
  • After that, tap the information button next to the watch you want to unpair.
  • Click the Unpair Apple Watch button.
  • Select one of these choices for models with GPS and cellular service:
  • KEEP YOUR PLAN: If you want to pair your device with your iPhone again.
  • REMOVE YOUR PLAN: If you don’t want to pair it again or if you decide to connect it to a different iPhone.
